Job Title: Emerging Leaders Coordinator
Location: In-person, Fayetteville

Position Type: Full-Time Hourly, 1 Year Grant-funded position, Jan 2025–Dec 2025
Reports to: Big View Director

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

About the Role
We seek a proactive, detail-oriented, self-starter to support a one-year project with the Big View Director implementing our Emerging Leaders work. The ideal candidate would have experience in program coordination, event planning, and passion for advocacy to support leadership development and community engagement, and be comfortable with digital media and technology. Must be available on Wednesday evenings. This is a one-year grant-funded position set from January to December 2025, with no guarantee of continuation. 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Becoming Visible Event Coordination (40%)

    • Plan and oversee logistics, including venue coordination and event-day operations for "Becoming Visible" community events.

    • Support the development and management of "Becoming Visible" media initiatives, including managing contractors for content creation, marketing, and outreach efforts.

    • Assist with recruiting and preparing facilitators for community dialogue events.

    • Prepare emerging leaders for speaking and storytelling roles at events through guidance and administrative support.

  2. VOIS Fellows Program Coordination (35%)

    • Assist with organizing and facilitating the weekly VOIS Fellows Program, including scheduling workshops, managing participant communication, and evaluating progress.

    • Provide administrative and logistical support for the Big View Director.

    • Maintain an up-to-date community calendar featuring events and advocacy opportunities for emerging leaders.

    • Represent the organization by attending community events and public meetings to build partnerships and stay informed on local initiatives.

  3. Big View Coordination (15%)

    • Coordinate monthly Big View program nights with Circles staff and Big View team volunteers.

    • Assist with developing program content and materials, including conducting secondary research to inform program topics and ensure relevant and engaging discussions.

  4. General Administration (10%)

    • Schedule meetings and assist the Big View Director.

    • Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and additional support materials.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years relevant experience in political science, sociology, nonprofit program coordination, digital communications, or other relevant field.

  • Skills: 

    • Google Workspace proficiency

    • Canva proficiency

    • Use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) for writing and content creation

    • Event coordination

    • Strong writing, verbal communication, and critical thinking skills

    • Tech-savviness

    • Graphic design, social media management skills (preferred)

  • Attributes: 

    • Proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and strong combination of ability to work independently and team-oriented. 

    • Passion for social justice, community engagement, and leadership development are essential.

    • Most importantly,excited about this opportunity, not afraid to ask questions, comfortable with failure as a form of success, and open to learning new things.
